April Wine of the Month

2016 Crosé

It’s patio season at King Family Vineyards and we can’t wait to enjoy the warm weather with you! Our 2016 Crosé Rosé is the perfect accompaniment to any picnic basket or tailgate cooler with it’s lively composition and refreshing finish. Aged in stainless steel and reminiscent of the old-world style, this dry Virginian Rosé asserts itself as a principal summer wine.
Our dry, Merlot based rosé is fresh and crisp with notes of grapefruit, lime, watermelon, and a light grassiness on the nose. Throughout the palate, a lifting acidity carries flavors of bitter cherry, peach, and rose petal. Friendly with lighter fare, this wine is also a great companion for the porch or patio.

March Wine of the Month: 2014 Merlot

The 2014 Merlot achieves a pleasant balance with its generous bouquet of bright red fruits and dark refined finish. Comprising 40% of the Meritage, and acting as the staple grape in our Crosé Rosé, Merlot is an integral component in the making of King Family Vineyards wine. This medium bodied wine satisfies our cravings for a commanding and comprehensive red.
Our varietal Merlot is aged for 16 months in a combination of both neutral and new French oak barrels. Bright notes of cherry, strawberry and leather are intertwined with a soft aroma of wet iron. On the palate, black tea leaf, mocha, and vanilla flavors are smoothly delivered along with fine tannins. A delicate and well integrated oak influence is carried through the finish.
