Although a challenging vintage for the production of red wines, 2011 yielded top quality Chardonnay in our vineyards. The summer was hot and we experienced mainly dry weather up through August. The vines ripened at a desired rate, developing complexity while maintaining acidity.
The wine underwent complete malolactic conversion, and was aged for nine months in both new and neutral French oak. While aging on the lees in the barrel, weekly batonnage was applied.
